Hey there, I'm James
I'm a game designer currently based out of Hamilton, Ontario currently working at HitGrab Game Labs. I've been making games professionally for 2 years and I've worked on a variety of different genres and platforms; 2D puzzle-platformers, idle games, even a mixed reality sandbox experience! This diverse exposure has developed a multidisciplinary approach when it comes to game design.
My goal is to provide unique, innovative experiences to players that resonates with them long after they've put down the controller.
My skillset includes level design, gameplay balancing, boss encounter design, C# and PHP scripting, and documentation. I graduated from Sheridan's Honour's Bachelor of Game Design program and have worked on 2 shipped titles.
Outside of work I enjoy D&D, collecting vinyl records, hiking, playing guitar, anything horror, and recently I've been dabbling with Magic: The Gathering. If you were to ask me what my favourite game is (which to be fair is a pretty hard question), I'd have to go with Banjo-Tooie for the N64. Why the sequel and not the original? Well if you want to know why then we'll have to discuss it over coffee (or whichever beverage your prefer).
If the curiosity is excruciating or you'd like to contact me for non-Banjo-Kazooie topics then please reach out to any of my contacts here!
